Tascam Guitar Trainer

With this trainer you can take any of your CDs and slow them down, normally this would change the pitch and make the track useless to learn from, BUT (and this is the cool bit) with the Guitar Trainer the pitch does not change and those really fast bits that you couldn’t get before are now really easy to play!

Not only can you slow it down to learn, once you get the hang of a new song, you can gradually speed up the track until before you know it you are playing at full speed.

Armed with a song book and a Guitar Trainer I have found it extremely easy to learn some of the faster metal songs and also hear the notes that I couldn’t quite get my fingers to fast enough at first!

The price at the moment is around $150 but you get a lot for your money. There is a built in tuner and a special function that allows you to cancel out certain instruments. This means that once you have learnt the riff you can cancel out the guitar on a CD and play using the REAL CD as a backing track – it’s very possible that you will throw out all of those cheesy sounding backing CDs!
