E Major Chord Chart - Open Chord


An E Major chord starts on the first fret is made up of the notes E, G# and B. On the guitar, place your fingers on:

First finger - 1st fret, 3rd string
Second finger - 2nd fret, 5th string
Third finger - 2nd fret, 4th string

Play all of the strings. The 1st, 2nd and 6th strings are played 'open' with no fingers on any fret.

A Major Chord Chart - Open Chord

An A Major chord is made up of the notes A, C# and E. On the guitar, place your fingers on:

First finger - 2nd fret, 4th string
Second finger - 2nd fret, 3rd string
Third finger - 2nd fret, 2nd string

Play the top 5 strings. The 1st and 5th strings are played open.

A D Major chord is made up of the notes D, F# and A. On the guitar, place your fingers on:

First finger - 2nd fret, 3rd string
Second finger - 2nd fret, 1st string
