Fender Highway One Electric Stratocaster Guitar

fender highway one stratocaster

The Fender Highway One Stratocaster is a cool electric guitar.

The classic Stratocaster shape is used all over the world and I know when I think of the word guitar, this is the model shape that pops into my head.

If you have outgrown your starter guitar, the Highway One is a possible next step. It is made from higher quality materials than a basic starter guitar and because of this the feel and sound of these guitars is very special.

The pickups are described by Fender as having a glassy sound with high gain, which gives me the impression that wailing solos won’t be a problem!

Imagine plugging this into a big amp stack and jacking up the volume while slamming out some Hendrix riffs… I can hear Purple Haze in my head now…

With a body made from Alder wood you can expect to be hearing some great tones that you definitely won’t have heard if you own a budget guitar.

Serious lead guitarists should own a guitar from Fender’s Highway One range.

A hidden feature that is particularly useful is Fender’s use of ‘Greasebucket Circuitry’. This allows you to turn down the tone controls on the guitar without it sounding like you have strapped a pillow to the front of your amp. I find this useful for playing old blues and jazz progressions, it sounds really authentic and I actually feel like I am sitting on a Mississippi porch listening to some old school blues!
